Arendsnes is a superb fly-fishing resort on the banks of the Vaal River. Arendsnes is situated 85 km from Johannesburg in the North-West province and 28km from Parys. Arendsnes offers various activities for the family and is also close to the tourist town Parys. This section of the river offers prestine fly fishing waters where Yellowfish, Carp and Barbell are found in abundance. Fly Fishers from all around the world visit this section of the Vaal River in order to catch Smallmouth Yellowfish which are endemic to South Africa.
