On Saturday, 5 October 2024, the Potchefstroom community will be gathering for a good cause at the Lekwena Wildlife Estate. The SunRun 24 is more than just a trail run; it's a charity event aimed at raising funds for the Abraham Kriel Children's Home in Potch. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just want to take a leisurely stroll, this event has something for everyone.

What’s Happening?

SunRun 24 offers two trail options—a 10km run for the avid athletes, and a 5km run (or walk) for those who prefer a gentler pace. The 10km kicks off bright and early at 06:30. For those tackling the 5km, your start time is a more relaxed 07:00. Even if you’re pushing a stroller or have a balance bike tagging along, no problem—everyone's welcome!

Expect a water point to refuel at the 3km and 7km marks, because who doesn’t need a breather in the middle of a jog through nature?

Fun for the Whole Family

Parents, don’t stress about the little ones while you’re out on the trail. There’s a safe play area with supervision to keep the kids entertained while you clock some mileage. And since kids under 12 get free entry, it’s an easy and affordable morning out for the entire family.

Tickets & Pricing

Tickets are R125.00 per person, with kids under 12 joining for free. Tickets can be grabbed online at Quicket or, for the spontaneous types, at the venue on the day.

This event isn’t just about getting outdoors and having fun—it’s also about making a difference. All proceeds go towards the Abraham Kriel Children's Home, so you’ll be running or walking for a cause that matters.
