A Family Passion Turned Reality
Route 96 Brewery was born when the family behind it acquired Graaff-Reinet Brewery. With over two decades of experience in the beer industry—both locally and internationally—the dream of owning their own brewery finally became a reality. But they didn’t stop there. The need for a dedicated facility led them to their current location, where they could focus on brewing top-tier craft beer with the best ingredients available.
Quality Over Quantity
Unlike mass-produced beer, Route 96 takes a hands-on approach. Their 1,250L brewhouse, paired with six additional 1,250L uni-tanks, ensures every batch is carefully fermented and aged to perfection.
One of their biggest advantages? Water. Their small holding boasts three boreholes, with a specially designed purification system to guarantee the best quality. With this key resource and imported ingredients, they’ve found the perfect balance to craft beers that stand out.
No Shortcuts, Just Great Beer
Commercial beers often go through pasteurisation, which extends shelf life but alters flavour. At Route 96, they skip this step, keeping their brews fresh and packed with flavour. The result? A consistent and high-quality craft beer experience every time.
