In a heartfelt display of appreciation and community spirit, Abraham Kriel Children's Home presented all of their 2023 LiggieFees sponsors with unique, handmade thank you souvenirs. Amid the festival's enchanting ambiance, which attracted an average of 2,150 visitors per night, culminating in a total of 73,433 attendees in 2023, the initiative by the staff and children of the home stands out as a beacon of gratitude and warmth.
A symbol of hope
These souvenirs, a handmade tree that lights up, were the result of weeks of dedicated preparation. They symbolise the journey of hope, resilience, and gratitude that defines the spirit of Abraham Kriel Children's Home. The initiative aimed not just to thank the individuals and organisations that have supported them but also to showcase the importance of community involvement and the profound impact of collective support. The high foot traffic, with an impressive total of 73,433 visitors during the festival, provided an excellent platform for the home to raise awareness about their mission and the ongoing need for community support.
It's the season to give
In a time when the spirit of giving and community support is more crucial than ever, the LiggieFees festival is a yearly, poignant reminder of the power of kindness and the significant impact a community can make when it rallies together for a common cause.
A big thank you
As the festival lights dimmed, the message from Abraham Kriel Children's Home shone brightly—a thank you, not just spoken, but demonstrated in the most meaningful way. This initiative did not only celebrate the spirit of the season but also reinforced the bonds between the home and the community that supports it, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all those involved.
"This souvenir embodies the spirit of our festival, aiming to bring light and joy into every aspect of your life. May it serve as a reminder of the wonderful memories shared and the bright future ahead", Christie Saayman, Principal of Abraham Kriel, stated in his letter sent to all sponsors.
We, as the Potchefstroom community, are already counting down the days to this year's LiggieFees!
