Pretoria-born Natasha Joubert has ascended the throne of beauty as she was crowned Miss South Africa 2023.
With striking green eyes, brown hair, and standing tall at 1.71 meters, this 26-year-old beauty has previously showcased her grace and charm as the second runner-up in Miss South Africa 2020 and as Miss Universe South Africa 2020, though she did not place in the top 21 in the Miss Universe pageant that year.
Joubert's journey to the crown wasn't just about pageantry. Born on 23 July 1997, she faced the tragedy of losing her father as a teenager, while her mother, Ninette, juggled the challenges of being a law student.
Raised alongside two siblings in Centurion, Gauteng, she pursued her academic goals at Boston City Campus and Business College, earning a Bachelor of Commerce degree in marketing management in 2020.
Apart from her academic accomplishments, Joubert made her mark in the professional world. Before entering Miss South Africa 2020, she served as a public relations officer for a reputable law firm. Not only that, but she also showcased her entrepreneurial spirit by founding the fashion design company, Natalia Jefferys.
Joubert's pageantry career kicked off in 2016 when she won the title of Miss Globe South Africa and then made it to the top 5 at Miss Globe 2016.
Her 2020 attempt at the Miss South Africa title saw her finish as the second runner-up, a stepping stone to her eventual triumph in 2023.
This year's journey was nothing short of dramatic. Through the reality show 'Crown Chasers,' Natasha consistently remained in the top three throughout all episodes and was crowned the ultimate winner on 13 August.
With a mix of beauty, brains, and entrepreneurial prowess, Natasha Joubert stands as a testament to the multifaceted women of today, proving that determination and hard work can indeed lead to crowning moments. Congratulations to the new Miss South Africa 2023!
