The office of the Executive Mayor, along with the proportional representative (PR) councillors, ensures that the broader strategic and political interests of JB Marks Municipality are managed efficiently.

The Office of the Executive Mayor:

Leading the municipality is Cllr Gaba Thithiba Ka Qhele, the Executive Mayor. The mayor’s office is responsible for overseeing the execution of municipal policies and ensuring that the vision for JB Marks Municipality is aligned with community development and growth.

Reminder for JB Marks Residents: Prepaid Meter Update Deadline Approaching

With the 24th November 2024 deadline fast approaching, residents in JB Marks Local Municipality are reminded to update their prepaid electricity meters before their tokens expire.

Failure to complete the Token Identifier (TID) Rollover could result in an interruption of electricity supply, as old tokens will no longer work after the deadline.

To facilitate this process, residents are required to:

• Insert a special Key Change Token, which consists of 2 x 20-digit tokens. These must be entered into the meter sequentially, similar to credit tokens.

• Ensure all unused credit tokens are entered before inserting the Key Change Token. Failure to do so will result in the inability to use any leftover tokens after the key change.

To aid in the transition, JB Marks Municipality has been sending out experts to assist with reprogramming meters. Residents are encouraged to cooperate with these teams and complete the update as soon as possible.
