Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities
Research support to Prof Josef de Beer.
Examples of these responsibilities, among others are: Searching articles and books online and in the library; Quality control of in-text references and reference lists; and supporting Prof De Beer with administrative work.
Support in conferences, seminars, and workshops and similar meetings.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Minimum - 4-year university degree.
Preferably Honours or master's degree.
Qualification preference and other requirements
A background in science education will be an advantage.
Must be a full-time Honours, Masters or PhD student.
Other requirements
· High-quality of academic writing ability
· Independent work
· Computer skills Confident and efficient in using a range of software packages, including MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), as well as email and internet.
· Communication skills: Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, internal and external stakeholders.
· Utilize proper grammar, punctuation, spelling, and correct arrangement of information.
· Good interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
· Ability to work independently, under pressure and meet deadlines.
· Client and team-oriented and actively seeking for ways to assist the client.
· Attention to detail, and accuracy in data handling.
· Discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information.
Post occupation requirements
The post will be available from February 2025 until the end of November 2025.
The applicant should be in Potchefstroom and willing to work in the office on campus.
