In the heart of Potchefstroom, a young boy named S-Tian Pretorius wakes up each morning with a dream as vibrant as the sunrise over the South African plains. A Grade 11 student at Salomon Senekal in Viljoenskroon, his life revolves around rugby—a sport that is not just a game to him but a calling, a purpose, and a dream waiting to be fulfilled.
Starting Early
From an early age, S-Tian idolised rugby legends like Eben Etzebeth, Siya Kolisi, and RG Snyman. Their stories of perseverance and triumph ignited a fire within him. Embracing the wisdom of John C. Maxwell—“Dreams don’t work unless you do”—he dedicated countless hours to honing his skills, pushing himself beyond limits, and embodying the spirit of a true athlete.
His hard work bore fruit when he was invited to play at the Bokkies Sevens in Meyerton from 24–28 September 2024. This achievement was a testament to his talent and dedication, a stepping stone toward his ultimate dream of wearing the green and gold of the Springboks. But fate had even bigger plans for him.
The Next Chapter Unfolds
The next chapter of his journey unfolded with an invitation to join the RTA Invitational Sevens team for the World's School Rugby Festival in Dubai from 15–22 December 2024. This is not just a tournament; it's an international stage where young talents shine, a place where dreams take flight. For S-Tian, it's an opportunity to test his mettle against some of the best young players in the world—a chance to bring his dream closer to reality.
Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” S-Tian believes wholeheartedly in the beauty of his dream. This journey to Dubai represents more than a game; it's about building character, embracing resilience, and pursuing excellence on and off the field.

However, this incredible opportunity comes with a significant cost. The total expense for the tour is R45,000. While S-Tian has poured his heart and soul into his sport, he needs support to make this dream a reality. This is where your generosity can make a life-changing difference.
Albert Schweitzer wisely noted, “Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.” S-Tian's love for rugby is evident in every practice, every game, and every dream he holds dear. Your support will not only help him participate in this prestigious event but also affirm his belief that hard work and passion do lead to success.
