It's that time of year again when The High School for Girls Potchefstroom community comes together for the annual Derby Day! This year's event includes a family-friendly Big Walk and a cozy family lunch, set for Saturday, July 27, 2024.
Join the Big Walk
The day kicks off with the exciting Big Walk starting at 12:45 PM and ending at 1:30 PM. All girls and their families are invited to participate wearing their house colors. This is a great opportunity to promote fitness and celebrate school spirit in a fun, healthy atmosphere. Tickets will be available at the Pavilion from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM on the event day.
Enjoy a Family Lunch
Following the Parents' Day activities, the school is offering a family lunch where sosaties and hotdogs will be available for only R20. The tuck shop will also be open for other treats and beverages. It's the perfect way to round off a day of community and family fun.
Soccer Fun
Before the walk, from 10:00 AM to 12:25 PM, the girls will be playing soccer. Support our girls as they showcase their soccer skills and teamwork on the field.
Charity Drive
During the event, there's also a chance to contribute to the community. The knitting committees need help making blankets that will be donated.
Parents are encouraged to knit a few strips (30 stitches, knit 1 meter long). Don't forget to bring some change and add to the house penny jars!
Parking is available on the Drummie Field in Kock Street or in Beyers Naude Avenue. Make sure to arrive early to secure a good spot!
