Over time, the institution grew, merging orphanages and evolving into the Potchefstroom Industrial Schools in 1922. It officially became HTS Potchefstroom in 1943, expanding its technical curriculum to include subjects like shoemaking, tanning, wagon making, and cabinet making—skills that were vital for South Africa’s post-war development.
