Laerskool President Pretorius proudly represented Potchefstroom at the eagerly awaited Retlakgona/Super A Spelling Bee 2024 held on August 1st. The event, a showcase of linguistic dexterity, took place in Potchefstroom, drawing participation from several local schools including Promosa Primary, Potch Primary, Mohadin Primary, Bright Beginnings, Boiterelo Primary, Thembalidinisi Primary, Tshupane Primary, and Laerskool President Pretorius itself.
Stellar Performances from Young Spellmasters
The competition was stiff, but Laerskool President Pretorius students stood out for their exceptional spelling skills. David Motaza clinched the first overall position, showcasing his prowess in spelling with an impressive performance that earned him top honors. Not far behind, Blessed Kakwata secured the second overall place, adding to the school’s list of accolades.
Advancing to Further Challenges
The success didn’t stop there for these young spelling enthusiasts. Both Blessed and David advanced to compete in the JB Marks district competition against schools from Ventersdorp. Scheduled for September 4th in Klerksdorp, this next round promises to be an exciting challenge for our talented participants.
