The city of Potchefstroom is celebrating the achievements of two of its brightest young scholars from Potchefstroom Gimnasium who have excelled at the South African Championships of Performing Arts (SACOPA), which were held in Rustenburg during the October holiday.
Bianca Joubert returned as a champion, adorned with a total of 26 medals - a striking haul of 13 golds, 12 silvers, and one bronze. She has emerged as a prodigious talent, commanding the stage and setting a formidable standard for others to follow.
Nicolene Minnaar also displayed exceptional talent, securing a gold medal in modeling and a series of awards across various dance categories, including solos, duos, and group performances. Her crowning achievement was receiving gold in the Open dance category and being declared the overall winner in the 13-15 age group.
The success of Bianca and Nicolene has sparked joy and pride within the halls of Potchefstroom Gimnasium. Their dedication and hard work, supported by the nurturing environment of their school, have led to this moment of accolade.
