Saints Christian School’s U/19 Girls Crowned North-West SA20 Champions
🏏🏆 🏏🏆 🏏🏆 🏏🏆 🏏🏆
Saints Christian School’s unbeaten u/19 girls cricket team has added another accolade to their impressive season, claiming the SA20 North-West Championship after a dominant victory against Matlosana Hub in the final held at the J.B. Marks Oval.🏆This triumph not only showcases the talent and hard work of the team, but also sees them proudly representing North-West in the national tournament later this year.
Strong Performance with Bat and Ball
The foundation for Saints’ victory was laid with the bat, as they posted a competitive total of 139/5 in their 20 overs. Despite losing two early wickets, captain Tshegofatso Monyela held the innings together with a crucial 44 off 36 balls, continuing her strong form throughout the season.
Her partnership with Jessica “Chief” Joshua, who played a composed and unbeaten knock of 50* from 43 balls, helped Saints recover and build a solid total.💙💙 Jessica, leading from the front, struck six boundaries and maintained a healthy strike rate of 116.28, providing the stability needed in a tense final.
Jessica’s partnership with Diarabilwe Ngubeni, who contributed a valuable 23 off 18 balls, was pivotal in shifting the momentum. Their 52-run stand came at a critical time, ensuring that Saints could post a competitive total despite early setbacks.
Saints’ Bowlers Seal the Victory
Saints’ bowlers were relentless from the very start of Matlosana Hub’s innings. The team applied pressure with disciplined bowling, starting with economic spells from Gogontle “Gigi” Padi (0/16 in 4 overs) and Reabetswe Dithipe (1/13 in 4 overs).🏏 Reabetswe also took the important wicket of Lerato Koitokoane, with a brilliant caught-and-bowled effort that set the tone for the rest of the innings.
The fielding was equally impressive, and Saints’ energy on the field lifted the team as the wickets began to fall. The first breakthrough came at 21/1, igniting jubilant celebrations both on and off the field.✨ The crowd’s support grew louder with every wicket as Matlosana Hub struggled to gain any momentum.
Tshegofatso Monyela played a key role with the ball as well, claiming 2/19 with her tight spin bowling. Along with Siphokazi Duma, who kept the pressure on, the pair ensured that Matlosana Hub could never build a meaningful partnership. In the end, Matlosana fell more than 30 runs short of Saints’ total, giving the Saints’ girls a well-deserved victory.
A Testimony to Hard Work and Support
This win is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the Saints’ coaching staff, who have been instrumental in developing the girls’ skills and fostering a winning mentality throughout the season.🔥🔥 The players demonstrated not only their talent but also their big match temperament, handling the pressure of the final with composure and confidence.
The support from parents and school staff also played a key role, creating a unified and positive atmosphere that helped the girls perform at their best. The scenes of joy at the end of the match highlighted just how much this win meant to everyone involved.
Looking Forward to Nationals
With the North-West title secured, Saints Christian School’s u/19 girls now set their sights on the national tournament, where they will represent their province. The team will no doubt carry this momentum forward and look to continue their unbeaten streak on the bigger stage.
This achievement serves as an inspiration to the entire school community, showcasing the incredible talent and determination of these young cricketers.Congratulations to the Saints’ u/19 girls, and best of luck as they prepare for the next challenge!🎉

Accountability as a Superpower: A Lesson for Life
🙌✨ 🙌✨ 🙌✨ 🙌✨ 🙌✨ 🙌✨
This past Friday and Monday, our learners were inspired by meaningful lessons that highlighted the importance of accountability and its transformative power. Through engaging talks and biblical reflections, they gained valuable insights on how to live with purpose and integrity.
The Prodigal Son: A Lesson in Significance
Teacher Sylvia led an impactful discussion based on the parable of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-18). The story offered learners a deeper understanding of grace, forgiveness, and the importance of taking responsibility for one’s actions. A key takeaway from her lesson was the challenge to “make yourself significant” – to take ownership of your life and contribute positively to the world around you.
Accountability: A Superpower for the Young Ones
Teacher Loise brought the message home for the grade 1-3 learners, presenting accountability as a “superpower” that can make the world a better place. She encouraged them to let their actions reflect the heart of Jesus – to show kindness, love, and responsibility in all they do. This lesson was not just a reminder of their values but a call to action to live more like Jesus every day. 🏆💛
Building Strong Foundations
These lessons are more than just classroom teachings; they are tools that help shape our learners into compassionate and responsible individuals. By understanding the significance of accountability, our learners are empowered to make wise decisions, support their peers, and positively influence their communities.💪🌟
We are so proud of the way our learners embraced these lessons, and we look forward to seeing how they use their “superpower” of accountability to make a difference.

Grade 3s Explore the Magic of Colour Mixing in Art Class
🎨😊 🎨😊 🎨😊 🎨😊 🎨😊
Our grade 3 learners recently got hands-on with colours in a fun and creative art session led by Teacher Larnese! 🎨😊 This special lesson was all about discovering the magic that happens when different colours meet – and the results were nothing short of amazing.
Teacher Larnese began with a quick demo, showing the class how mixing one colour with another can create an entirely new shade. The learners watched with wide eyes as primary colours combined to form greens, purples, and oranges. From there, it was time for them to get creative on their own!
With brushes in hand and palettes filled with colourful paint, the kids eagerly experimented, blending colours to see what they could create. The room was soon buzzing with excitement as each learner proudly showcased their unique colour creations.🖌️👏✨
This hands-on experience allowed the grade 3s to express themselves artistically while learning a bit about colour theory. It’s safe to say the learners left the class inspired and ready to continue their artistic journeys!Well done, grade 3s, and a big thank you to Teacher Larnese for bringing out the artist in each of our learners!

Vaccine Drive at Saints Christian School to Combat Cervical Cancer
🎗️✨ 🎗️✨ 🎗️✨ 🎗️✨ 🎗️✨
During October, Saints Christian School partnered with the Department of Health and the Department of Education to carry out a vaccine drive for the Human Papillomavirus (HPV). This vaccine initiative focused on girls from Grades 5 to 7 with the goal of protecting them against cervical cancer. 👏
Protecting Our Young Women
HPV is one of the leading causes of cervical cancer, and this vaccination drive is a proactive step to ensure better health outcomes for young women in our community. By providing this vaccine, the Department of Health and Department of Education are helping to create a safer future and promoting long-term health.
Why the HPV Vaccine?
The HPV vaccine is most effective when given before exposure to the virus, which is why it’s targeted at girls in Grades 5-7. 💪🌟By tackling the virus early, we’re taking a big step in preventing cervical cancer later in life. It’s a simple but impactful action that can make all the difference.
Gratitude for Community Health Efforts
We are grateful to both departments for bringing this important initiative to Saints Christian School. Their dedication to the health of our young learners and the greater community does not go unnoticed. This vaccine drive is a reminder of the power of prevention and the importance of community health efforts.
Let’s continue to support efforts like these that work towards a healthier and brighter future for our children!

Gabriella Gabriel Inspires Saints Learners During Cancer Awareness Week
🎗️✨ 🎗️✨ 🎗️✨ 🎗️✨ 🎗️✨ 🎗️✨
This past Monday, we were honoured to welcome Gabriella Gabriel to Saints as part of our Cancer Awareness Week. Gabriella, who holds a degree in psychology and physiology and is currently specialising in cardiovascular physiology and women’s health, brought valuable insights to our high school learners, specifically focusing on breast cancer awareness. 🎗️✨

Saints Christian School Supports SANBS Blood Drive
🩸🩸 🩸🩸 🩸🩸 🩸🩸 🩸🩸
On Wednesday, 2 October, Saints Christian School welcomed the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) to our campus for a meaningful cause. Some of our dedicated staff members took time out of their busy schedules to visit the mobile donation set-up in the chapel and donate blood to help save lives.🫶🏻 It was a small act with a big impact, and we are proud to be part of this important initiative.
The Importance of Blood Donation
The SANBS shared a surprising statistic with us: only 1% of South Africans are active blood donors. This means that the need for more donors is constant. Every donation makes a significant difference, as just one unit of blood can save a minimum of three lives.🩸How is that possible? Blood is separated into red blood cells, plasma, and platelets, each of which can be used for different life-saving treatments.
Making a Difference, One Donation at a Time
The visit from the SANBS gave our staff an opportunity to contribute to a cause that is much bigger than ourselves. By donating blood, we are helping people in need, whether it's someone recovering from surgery, a patient undergoing cancer treatment, or a person who has suffered a serious injury.✨
Every drop counts, and we are proud of those who stepped up to make a difference. We encourage everyone, both within our school community and beyond, to consider becoming a regular blood donor. It’s a simple and selfless way to help others and save lives.
Saving Lives Together
A big thank you to the SANBS for visiting Saints Christian School and to all the staff who donated. Let’s continue to spread awareness about the importance of blood donation and inspire others to get involved. Together, we can save lives—one unit of blood at a time.
