The NWU Wine Guild is cracking open the bottles this April and inviting not just students and staff, but the whole of Potchefstroom to join them for an evening of wine tasting hosted in partnership with Bizoe Winery. It’s not a formal do, but you’ll definitely want to leave the box wine at home.
The Lowdown
The wine tasting evening takes place on 17 April 2025, kicking off at 18:30, and will be held at D’Vine Ven’U (Building H4, NWU Campus – Dampad Dining Hall).
The event is open to anyone in Potch who enjoys wine, food, and slightly fancy evenings that don’t take themselves too seriously.
For R295, you get a guided tasting experience, a full meal, and the chance to ask wine questions you’ve been too shy to Google. Hosting the evening is Mark Anderson, who’ll be pouring knowledge alongside the wine.
Tickets: Get Yours Before the Grape Runs Dry
Tickets are available exclusively via Quicket and need to be purchased by 16 April 2025 – there’ll be no ticket sales at the door, and definitely no IOUs.

Take Note:
Bring your ticket – physical or digital, but make sure it’s visible.
If you need a refund, it must be sorted out before 16 April.
No ticket = no entry. Simple as that.

Whether you're a wine buff, a casual sipper, or just tagging along for the food, this evening promises a solid combo of good wine, local flair, and decent company. You don’t need to know your chardonnay from your sauvignon – just come thirsty.
