The boots are laced, the balls are pumped, and the Easter weekend in Promosa is looking anything but quiet as the Easter Friendly Fest rolls into town on the 18th and 19th of April, 2025. Hosted at Promosa Stadium in Potchefstroom, this two-day community football showcase promises back-to-back matches featuring local youth talent across several age groups — all with free entry. No tickets, no drama — just football.
Day One: 18 April – Youth Clash Bonanza
The action kicks off at 9AM sharp (no snoozing allowed). The opening day will feature some spicy matchups as the future stars of local football take the pitch. Here's the rundown:
Costa City vs. Two For Joy FC (U13) – Expect young legs and wild goals.
Promosa Young Stars vs. Academy FC (U15) – Two sides hungry to impress.
Costa City vs. Promosa Young Stars (U21) – The big kids take over.
Promosa United FC vs. Academy FC – Wrapping up day one with this community classic.
Day Two: 19 April – More Goals, Same Time, Same Place
If Friday’s not enough football for you, Saturday’s got even more. Again, it’s a 9AM kick-off, and here's who’s bringing the heat:
Promosa Young Stars vs. Academy FC (U13) – Round two of the youth duel.
Promosa United vs. Two For Joy FC (U15) – Could be fiery. Could be friendly. We’ll see.
Promosa Young Stars vs. Academy FC (U17) – Teenagers with something to prove.
Promosa United vs. Two For Joy FC – Seniors take the stage to close the fest.
Something Bigger Than Football
The Easter Friendly Fest isn’t just about scoring goals and chasing silverware. It's a community-driven event brought to life by the Promosa Community Youth Centre, which is all about giving hope to the hopeless. Supporting the event means backing youth development and grassroots sports — and you don’t even have to pay a cent to get involved. Just show up, cheer, and maybe bring some snacks (or at least a vuvuzela).
No ticket pricing, no online booking drama. Just rock up, find a spot, and enjoy some lekker local footie. Bring your mates, your cousin who still thinks he could’ve gone pro, and your loudest support voice. The kids are bringing the talent — the rest is up to us.
