The quiet town of Potchefstroom will burst into a cacophony of footsteps and laughter as participants will gather for the RKB SunRun 2023. The event will take place, on 2 September 2023, at the scenic Lekwena Wildlife Estate, located along N12, just 11km outside of Potchefstroom.
This charity run will signify more than just a test of endurance; it will serve as a lifeline for Abraham Kriel Children's Home. Tickets will cost R125 per adult and will be free for children under 12. Sales will occur through Quicket, where tickets can be purchased online.
Two Routes, Twice the Fun
Runners will have the choice of a 5km or a 10km route. The gun will go off at 8 a.m., but latecomers can join the race as late as 10 a.m. Those who prefer to register on the day will have the opportunity to do so from 7 a.m. onwards.
Not Just for Runners
If running isn’t your forte, fear not! The event will also feature a picnic and live music starting at noon. Families are encouraged to bring their picnic blankets and revel in the natural beauty that Lekwena Wildlife Estate has to offer.
A supervised kids' area will ensure that even the youngest attendees will find something to enjoy. Lekwena Plaaskombuis will open at 7 a.m., offering food and drinks for early arrivals and throughout the day.
Ticket Pricing and More
A ticket will set you back only R125.00 per person, but children under 12 will get to run free of charge. Event organizer Rouan Knoesen says, "We can't wait to see the community come together for a cause that’s close to our hearts."
For additional information, future attendees can reach out to Rouan Knoesen via telephone or WhatsApp at 082-777-4937 or via email at info@lekwena.co.za. or rkbiokineticist@gmail.com Updates will also be available on the Lekwena Wildlife Estate's and The Biokineticist Facebook pages.
So, whether you will lace up your running shoes or spread out your picnic blanket, RKB SunRun 2023 will offer something for everyone while benefiting a local charity. Potchefstroom will undoubtedly be a brighter place on September 2nd, thanks to this heartwarming initiative.
