Potchefstroom locals and visitors alike should set aside Friday, 14 March 2025, for a night under the full moon at Lekwena Wildlife Estate. This annual charity event, presented by Engel & Völkers Potchefstroom and Lekwena Wildlife Estate, promises an evening of outdoor fun, live music, and good food, all in aid of the Potchefstroom Dienssentrum vir Bejaardes.
What to Expect
Gates open at 17:00, giving attendees time to explore the Night Market (running from 17:00 to 21:00), enjoy live music, and keep the kids entertained with activities, including a jumping castle. For the sporty types, padel and volleyball courts will be available (at an extra cost). A cash bar and various food stalls will be on-site to keep everyone fuelled for the night.
The Moon Walk
The main event of the evening is the Moon Walk, an out-and-back route through the Lekwena Wildlife Estate. Walkers can start at any time between 18:00 and 20:00, with the entrance to the route closing at 20:00. The route is roughly 7km long, but participants can turn back earlier if they prefer. Keep in mind, in true bushveld style, this is a bring-your-own-headlight affair – it’s compulsory.

Tickets are pre-entry only and available exclusively online via TIXSA. No tickets will be sold at the gate, and sales close at 16:00 on the day (or earlier if sold out). Space is limited, so don’t wait too long!
Need-to-Know Info
If it rains, the event will be cancelled (because soggy shoes and moonlit puddles aren’t the vibe).
