The circus is coming back to Potch, and it's McLaren Circus at the helm! Mark your calendars from October 16 to 20 because this one's going to be a banger! And no, it’s not just about a few clowns and popcorn. We’re talking big cats, dangerous stunts, and, of course, the Wheel of Death. If you’ve ever thought Potchefstroom was missing a bit of circus flair, this is your sign to grab a ticket!
What’s on the Line-Up?
You know McLaren Circus doesn’t play around when it comes to entertainment. This year’s line-up features some top-notch international and local acts, including a wild mix of White Lions, a Lion, and a couple of tigers thrown in for good measure—both the Bengal and White Bengal types, nogal! If that doesn’t get you hyped, then maybe the insane Globe of Death or the classic Wheel of Death will. Daredevils on motorcycles, flipping, spinning – the works.
There’s also a bunch of more “traditional” circus acts (if you can call a python “traditional”), with poodles, camels, horses, ponies, and even goats pulling their weight in the ring. Acrobats and aerialists will leave you questioning your own fitness levels, and the strongman acts are guaranteed to make you feel like you need to hit the gym (or maybe not).
Tickets – Easy on the Wallet, Fun for the Fam
Tickets are up for grabs and they won’t break the bank either. Prices start from a very reasonable R165 for unreserved seating, going up to R275 if you want to be closer to the action in the Golden Ring. There’s even a special for Thursday night (17 Oct) – all seats are R150, but cash only and you’ll have to buy them at the door on the day. Kids under 2 years old can get in for free, as long as they’re parked on someone’s lap.
Worried about load shedding ruining the fun? Don’t stress. McLaren’s got you covered with generator power – the show will go on, lights and all!
