The North West Parks and Tourism Board will usher in an exhilarating week of natural exploration, as Park Mahala Week is set to unfold from September 10th to 17th, 2023. South Africans from all walks of life will be granted complimentary access to a plethora of the province’s nature reserves. This annual event will offer the public a chance to appreciate the rich biodiversity and striking landscapes of North West.
A Week of Free Exploration
Carrying your South African ID will be your passport to a world of natural wonders. No fees will be charged for entry, although terms and conditions will apply. It's important to note that while access to the parks will be free, activities and accommodations are not included in this offer.
What to Bring?
Visitors are encouraged to come well-prepared. Picnic baskets, water, and good company will be essential. As one loyal fan and tour operator showcased in their social media post, these reserves will offer plenty of picturesque spots for a perfect day out.

It should be noted that the Madikwe Nature Reserve will not be part of this free-access initiative. Schools wishing to participate will need to pre-book their visits.
