The Promosa Community Youth Centre is set to host a thought-provoking event on 28 February 2025 at Grace Tabernacle Church, located at 7-9 Koraan Street, Promosa. The event will feature a special screening of the short film Hope to the Hopeless, which tackles the realities of drug addiction.
A Film with a Message
Hope to the Hopeless is not just another film—it’s based on a true story and aims to spark conversations about the impact of drug addiction on individuals and communities. The film was initially showcased at the Grahamstown Online Festival in 2023 but has never been screened locally in Promosa. This event offers the community a chance to finally see it on home ground.
Open Invitation to the Community
The screening is part of a broader Community Engagement Programme addressing drug addiction. The organisers have extended an open invitation to all departments, organisations, stakeholders, and community members to attend and take part in the conversation. Entry is free, making it accessible to all who wish to engage in this important discussion.

This event is a chance for the community to come together, share insights, and discuss ways to address drug addiction at a grassroots level. It’s not every day that a locally produced film with such a powerful message gets a screening in its own backyard—so why not pull through and be part of the conversation?
