I came to the realisation that I do not really pray anymore, I just rush a few minutes in the evening at bedtime... and I made a decision to take hold of my spiritual life again, I needed to ... today was the start of my new journy to move closer to God
So Much to Pray For
Kneeling by my bedside, I was confronted by a profound realization: the vast expanse of thoughts, gratitude, fears, and dreams that I wish to lay before God is immeasurable. Surely, He already knows each whisper of my heart, and yet I felt I needed to talk to God, and I also realised that indeed a prayer session with God should not, and cannot be a one minute affair, it needed to be a true conversation.
Not Heartfelt Conversations
Though we have been gifted the sacred privilege of speaking with our Creator, it's unfortunate how often we reduce this powerful connection to mere moments. In our haste, prayers like "Our Father in Heaven" risk becoming rote recitations rather than heartfelt conversations. Have we lost the essence of what it truly means to converse with our Father?
Present Our True Selves
The beauty of our faith is that God does not confine us to scripted prayers alone. While "Our Father" is a divinely inspired template, God’s Word is replete with encouragements like "Ask, and you shall receive." He beckons us to come to Him with authenticity, presenting our true selves.
Lets Pray with Intention
Let us challenge ourselves: to pray with intention, to immerse ourselves in deep dialogue with God, laying our souls bare. This vulnerability not only allows us to offload the burdens of our hearts, granting us clarity, but also fosters a deeper, more genuine relationship with Him. As we commit to this, we will undoubtedly witness its transformative power in our lives, strengthening our relationships and enhancing our joy.
Bond of Faith
In sincere conversation with God, we find a bond that is unbreakable and a love that is unshakable. Let us cherish and deepen this bond, knowing it's a wellspring of blessings.
