The threshing floor is a place of separation and revelation. A place where the harvest is prepared by separating the grain from the useless straw for the purpose of exposing and collecting the most valuable part of the crop.
The heart behind the movement
With a heart on fire for the Lord and His work, Werner Broodryk has dedicated not only his personal life, but also that of Threshing Floor Movement and laid it all at the feet of the Throne. The Threshing Floor Movement is deeply embedded in God's grand mission, dedicating itself to sharing the profound message of Jesus Christ. Committed to this cause regardless of the challenges, they are resolute in their mission to purify and rejuvenate through divine intervention. Their fundamental aim is to seek out and redeem those who are lost, irrespective of the sacrifices involved, and to encourage those who have strayed from their faith to return and repent.
Through these efforts, they aspire to foster a transformation that yields lasting and meaningful spiritual change.
When asked about the idea that led to the establishment of this movement, Werner answered “I saw a vision of a threshing floor with wheat all around the threshing floor, ready to be harvested. On the threshing floor, I saw numerous altars that were built. I walked from the threshing floor, harvested wheat and brought it to the threshing floor, placing the wheat on the various altars. As the wheat was placed on the altars, a fire from heaven came down on each altar, only consuming the chaff that fell to the ground. The wheat got up from the altars, went back into the harvest field, not into the barn where it usually goes after the separation, and each wheat brought more wheat to the threshing floor, placing them on the altars.”
Threshing Floor Movement (TFM) is focused on getting people on the proverbial threshing floor so that they can have an encounter with God, where He then deals with them on His percfect, loving way and separates them from those things which do not belong in their lives. After the encounter, they are sent back ‘into the field’ to collect more ‘wheat’ (others in need) and bring them to the threshing floor - duplicating the wheat one at a time. In addition to practising law, Werner mentioned that a line needed to be drawn in the sand as to when he needed to start committing and devoting his 100% to TFM and ever since July of 2023, the Lord’s provision has been instant, evident and continuous.
Stepping out
The open-air preachings that take place at the taxi rank on Thursdays, have been going on long before Threshing Floor Movement started and has grown every week; so much so that the commuters are already waiting for Werner and his team when they arrive - everyone comes with excitement and an expectation. They’ve witnessed and experienced numerous miracles and many individuals have laid down their lives for Jesus during these missions. Other ministries join hands with Threshing Floor Movement during these open-air sermons, specifically Christ for all Nations.
Various projects that make up the ministry
Threshing Floor Movement is made up of a few projects which include Fire Nights, Connect, Business Ministry and Crusades, with latter mentioned being the main focus.
Crusades
The Crusades are essentially mass evangelism, involving extensive pre-planning with local churches, which play a crucial role in their communities. In the lead-up to the Crusade, these churches undergo a three-week training program with the Threshing Floor Movement. This training prepares them to work alongside the movement and to effectively support new believers. The primary goal of these sessions is to prepare disciples who will then be integrated into local churches. This strategy ensures that new believers who commit their lives to Jesus during the Crusades are welcomed into a supportive environment with trained individuals ready to guide them on their newfound spiritual path.
At the outset of this training period, a Vision Cast workshop is conducted to share the ethos and objectives of the Threshing Floor Movement with local religious leaders. However, it's during these initial sessions that some leaders choose to disengage due to differing views and opinions about the movement's approach. Those who align with the movement's vision contribute by sending volunteers for additional training. Werner emphasises their commitment to serving these local churches. The training encompasses practical skills for street evangelism, one-on-one outreach, managing expectations during and after the Crusade, and effective ways to nurture new believers, utilising the proven methodologies of Christ for all Nations.
Business Ministry
This project is all about reaching out to the CEO’s of companies, building a relationship with them and really showing, educating and equipping them with the necessary skills and vision of what the Kingdom should look like in their day-to-day business. Werner’s current field of work also allows him access to industries and businesses that aren’t usually easily accessible.
Fire Nights
Fire Nights is a spiritually uplifting event that brings people together for fellowship and faith. It offers a break from daily life and a chance to connect with God through scripture and teachings. This is more than just a gathering; it's an opportunity for divine encounters, guidance, and inspiration. Attendees can also find ministry, prayer, and support, creating a safe space for healing and renewal. Open to all seeking spiritual growth, community, or reflection, Fire Nights welcomes everyone.
Connect
Connect is a project dedicated to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ through personal, one-on-one interactions. The team focuses on making individual connections and engaging with people in the community to discuss Jesus' teachings, listen to their stories, and provide spiritual guidance. This approach recognises the unique needs and experiences of each person. Alongside sharing the Gospel, Connect offers prayer, comfort, and support, aiming to promote healing, spiritual growth, and a deeper connection with faith. The project highlights the power of human connection in sharing the Gospel, one heart at a time.
