In front of a sold-out Emirates Airline Park, the Springboks staged a remarkable comeback to defeat New Zealand 31-27 in a Castle Lager Rugby Championship classic. Trailing by 10 points with 15 minutes to go, the Boks rallied to secure a win that will be remembered for years.
New Zealand’s Early Dominance
The All Blacks started strong, putting the Springboks under immense pressure. Codie Taylor’s early try, converted by Damian McKenzie, set the tone. Despite battling unforced errors, the Boks managed to stay within reach thanks to a try from Bongi Mbonambi and a long-range penalty by Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu.
