Three residences—Dennedorp, Soetdorings, and Invictus—cater specifically to rugby players and sport students, providing facilities that enhance both their athletic and personal growth.
Dennedorp:
Dennedorp is designed to support NWU rugby players in their academic and athletic pursuits. With four blocks housing 25 single rooms each, it ensures a focused and structured environment. Communal facilities include bathrooms, a kitchen, and a washing area equipped with a basin, washing machine, and tumble dryer.
Admission is based on a combination of academic and rugby achievements, as well as active participation in residence activities such as RAG and cultural events. Residents are encouraged to immerse themselves in the full campus experience while excelling in their sport.

Soetdorings:
Located within walking distance of the Fanie du Toit Sports Centre and HPI gymnasium, Soetdorings offers flexible accommodation options, including two-, three-, and four-bedroom flats, each with private kitchens and bathrooms.
Over the past five years, Soetdorings has established itself as an active participant in NWU hostel life, allowing residents to experience both the camaraderie of student life and the discipline of high-performance rugby.
Admission criteria include academic and rugby performance as well as involvement in hostel activities such as RAG and cultural events.

Invictus:
Invictus, also known as Dennepark-North, is NWU’s latest residence for sport students, established in 2023. It mirrors Dennedorp’s layout with four blocks, each containing 25 single rooms, communal bathrooms, kitchens, and washing facilities.
The residence is geared toward fostering a full student life experience, blending rigorous sports training with academic excellence. Like the other rugby residences, admission is based on performance and active participation in residence and campus activities.
