What is Candy Floss (Spookasem)?

Candy Floss – or spookasem, as we lovingly call it in Afrikaans – is essentially sugar spun into a soft cloud of joy. A special machine heats sugar until it melts, then spins it through tiny holes where it cools into fine threads. These threads collect into a fluffy, sweet treat that melts in your mouth. Add flavourings like cherry, blueberry, or vanilla and a splash of colour, and you’ve got a party favourite that delights both kids and adults.

Founded and run by Jolandi from her home in Potchefstroom, Le Floss has been creating joy in the form of candy floss since 2022. It started as a passion project, and has since grown into a much-loved local business known for its vibrant service and eye-catching presentation.
