A Day for Mums — Without the Dishes

Pecanwood Lodge in Potchefstroom is rolling out a laid-back celebration for Mother’s Day on 11 May 2025, and it’s one of those “come hungry, leave happier” kind of affairs. For R285 per person, guests are invited to indulge in a full buffet spread while enjoying live tunes from local performer Johan Loots, who’ll be kicking off from 11:30am.

What’s on the Menu?

The buffet is set to be a no-nonsense feast. Here’s the lineup:

Starters

• A variety of soups

• Baked cheeses

• Homemade breads

Mains

• Sticky short ribs

• Rosemary-infused chicken thighs

• Pumpkin fritters with caramel sauce

• Creamy potato bake

• Phyllo pockets stuffed with roasted veg

• A full-on salad bar

Dessert

• Pavlova with seasonal fruit

• Sticky chocolate pudding

• Peppermint crisp tart (because it’s not a proper SA buffet without it)

There’ll also be a cash bar on site, in case mum fancies a cheeky G&T with her salad.

The event will take place at Pecanwood Lodge, located at 281 R501, Oude Dorp, Potchefstroom — a venue known for its countryside views and chilled atmosphere, which should pair nicely with the Sunday sounds and comfort food.
